Court Orders Substituted Service of Charge on Mikano's Directors

By Aliu Joshua
A Lagos High Court has ordered substituted service of a charge on the directors of Mikano International Limited, a company accused of involvement in a multi-million naira fraud.
The court granted the order after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) complained of difficulties in serving the charge on the defendants personally.
According to the EFCC, the defendants had been evading service, prompting the commission to apply for substituted service.
The court, in granting the order, ruled that the charge and other processes be served on the defendants through their company’s registered office.
Mikano International Limited and its directors are facing charges of conspiracy, stealing, and forgery, among others, over their alleged involvement in a multi-million naira fraud.
The case has been adjourned to a later date for further hearing.
