The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps, Commandant Umar J.G Mohammed has urged the 190 recruited officers to uphold the highest standards of discipline, respect for human rights as well as adhere to the rule of law.

Commandant Umar made the call on Friday 1st of march, 2024 during the passing out parade of the newly recruited officers after six months of rigorous and intensive training.

ASC Ayoola Michael Shola, CDPRO, Kwara State Command stated this in a press statement.

The event, which coincided with the International Civil Defence Day, observed annually on March 1st, serves to raise awareness regarding the significance of civil protection and emergency readiness.

The Kwara NSCDC Boss emphasized that this year’s commemoration, themed “Honour Heroes and Promote Safety Skills,” aims to acknowledge the indispensable role of Civil Defence in shielding citizens from both natural and man-made disasters.

Commandant Umar felicitated with the new recruits for the successful completion of their training, describing it as qualitative, realistic, and tailored to meet the contemporary security needs of the country. Additionally, He tasked them to exhibit a high sense of loyalty, professionalism, and discipline to enable them to succeed in their career.

Furthermore, the Commandant acknowledged the crucial role played by the instructors in shaping the recruits into disciplined and competent officers and men of the Corps.

He magnanimously donated ₦200,000 to the trainees and ₦100,000 to the instructors, as a token of appreciation for their exceptional dedication and hard work in ensuring the success of the training program.

In Conclusion, the event featured various simulation exercises that added vibrancy and excitement to the occasion. Among these exercises were unarmed combat demonstrations, rugged parade displays, and silent drills.
