The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Nigeria on Tuesday, took the campaign of its forthcoming Annual General Meeting and conference of to the Tincan Island and Apapa Ports in Lagos

Led by CILT Vice President, West, Mr. Samuel Usoro, the team wooed the Port Managers, Mr. Sylvester Egede and Charles Okaga to key into its Master class meant for chief executives of organisations

The logistics and transport experts also discussed ways to improve membership participation in CILT activities with the two port managers.

Also speaking, the Chairman, Lagos Branch of the Institute, Mr Bashir Ambi Mohammed informed the PMs of the need for the new NPA Management to key into the CILT Master Class on Logistics and Transport for top management and Chief Executives.

He said it was a weekend online program which exposed chief executives to modern logistics and transportation solutions.

Responding, the Tincan Island Port Manager, Mr. Sylvester Egede expressed appreciation for the laudable programs of the leadership of the Institute

Speaking further, the Tincan PM, Egede also promised support for CILT and its programs.

When visited, the Apapa Port Manager, Mr. Charles Bamidele Okaga who earlier that day had a ministerial committee conducting inspection in the port complex, squeezed out time from his busy schedule to attend to the council members from CILT.

He expressed delight to be amidst council members of the CILT. He went further to challenge the CILT council members to enshrine professionalism as the only yardstick for growth and membership into the CILT.

This, he said, would ensure that the Institute achieves a level of success where key positions in Transport and Logistics in the country would only be manned by Chartered Members of the Institute. He also promised to support the institute in all its activities and programs.

Among the a council members are the CILT Women representative, Aviation Mode, representative of, Railway Mode, representative of the Maritime Mode, representative and Chairman CILT Tincan branch.
