The Port and Terminal Multipurpose Limited (PTML) command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Tuesday, declared that the command generated over N150 billion between November 11, 2024 and March 4, 2025 with the introduction of B’Odogwu revenue platform by the Service

Speaking with journalists on his office, the Customs Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Tenny Mankini Daniyan announced that the platform had helped the Service to generate the sum after exiting NICIS administered by Web Fontaine.

He enthused that the wisdom of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi birthed the laudable project which he said would soon be implemented in other commands

According.to him, aside the initial challenges experienced at the pilot stage, the platform has been running smoothly even as it generates more revenue for the government

He added that the platform also afforded the trading public the opportunity to maximise their business potential at the command

His words, “”The CGC was in Apapa yesterday for sensitisation on the soon to be implemented B’Odogwu project in Tincan

“Let me have it to the CG because since he came in, he has been innovative, churning out projects for the welfare of the trading public, facilitating trade and ensuring that traders get more money

“Since he came in, he has introduced projects like Time Release Study, Advanced Ruling, and they are all for the benefits of the trading public

“B’Odogwu is one of his legacy projects. It is called Unified Customs Management System (UCMS) which is to replace the existing NICIS.

“By Section 28 of the Nigeria Customs Service Act, it empowers Customs to initiate a platform for revenue collection

“So, the CGC in his initiative started this B’Odogwu to replace NICIS. We thank God, on October 23rd, 2024, the CGC launched it here and since we started, the baby is growing very well now.

“We thank God that we took a bold decision and today, it is working for us and by that, we were able to get along and I am able to tell you that NICIS  stopped since November 11, 2024

“So far, we have been able to collect one hundred and fifty billion naira since we commenced B’Odogwu since November, 2024,” he maintained.
