Merchant Navy boss, Yousou urges newly appointed NIMASA Executive Directors to work with seafarers

The Nigeria Merchant Navy Officers and Water Transport Senior Staff Association (NMNOWTSSA) has congratulated the recent appointment of the new Executive Directors of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) by President Bola Tinubu .
They are Abba Jubril, Executive Director, Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services (ML&CS),
Chudi Offodile, Executive Director, Finance & Administration (NIMASA) and Engr. Fatai Taye Adeyemi, Executive Director, Operations (NIMASA)
A statement signed on Wednesday by the Secretary General of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) affiliate group, Comrade John Okpono Aleakhue quoted the National President, Engr. Bob Joseph Yousuo expressing satisfaction for the appointments
He added that the association would give its maximum cooperation in creating a robust working relationship with the apex maritime regulatory agency.
Yousuo described the appointments of the Executive Directors as transparent and fair in line with maritime development.
The President reiterated that prudence and transparency earned them the prestigious positions stressing that the appointments will bring good tidings to NIMASA and the maritime industry as well.
The National President also urged the new Executive Directors to work with the seafarers representatives and other Maritime stakeholders for the growth of the Maritime industry as well as to better the lives of Nigerian seafarers.
“We must harness the Maritime opportunities in Nigeria so as to increase the Nation ‘s GDP ascribe d to the Season No one Seafarer in Nigeria,” he admonished.
Recall that President Tinubu approved the appointment of new Executive Directors in two (2) agencies under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.
For Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Ms. Vivian C. Richard Edet was appointed the Executive Director, Finance & Administration, Engr. Olalekan Badmus, Executive Director, Marine & Operations, Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar, Executive Director, Engineering & Technical Services.
