_MWUN Executives Pay Condolence Visit to Late ITF Chief’s Family

A delegation of top officials from the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) recently paid a condolence visit to the family of the late ITF Chief, Comrade Ayo Ohiwererh. The visit was a show of respect and solidarity with the family of the late labor leader.
The MWUN delegation, which included Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, Deputy President General; Sunday Avoseh, President of the Seamen and Water Transport Workers Branch; Tajudeen Ibrahim Ohize, President of the Dockworkers Branch; Boniface Udoh, Deputy President General; and Abubakar Bello, Vice President of the Dockworkers Branch, among others, expressed their condolences to the family.
They praised the late Comrade Ohiwererh’s contributions to the labor movement, acknowledging his tireless efforts in promoting the welfare of workers and his commitment to social justice. The MWUN executives noted that his dedication and leadership had inspired a generation of labor activists and had helped shape the course of the labor movement in Nigeria.
The MWUN has been working closely with the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) to promote the interests of Nigerian seafarers and dockworkers. The late Comrade Ohiwererh was a key figure in this collaboration, and his passing has left a void in the labor movement.
The MWUN executives’ visit to the late Comrade Ohiwererh’s family was a testament to the union’s commitment to honoring the memory of its fallen heroes. It also demonstrated the union’s solidarity with the family and its determination to continue the late Comrade Ohiwererh’s legacy of fighting for workers’ rights.
