Western Port Police lauds seafarers for contribution to international trade

 

The Commissioner of Police, Western Ports Authority Police Command, CP Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola on Tuesday, appreciated the contributions of Nigeria seafarers in global trade

He gave the commendation at the International Seafarers Day celebration set aside by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to recognize the contributions of seafarers to international trade and the world economy.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Isaac Hundeyin, Police Public Relations Officer of the command, disclosed this in a press statement .

The CP who was represented at the occasion by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, DCP Sylvester Uzoefuna Junior, assured the management of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASA of its coloration for the enforcement of global best practices

The CP also congratulated the Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, for his visionary leadership in piloting the affairs of the nation’s apex maritime regulatory body while ensuring that NIMASA’s core mandates are enforced which is in tandem with this year’s theme “Navigating the Future; Safety First”.

The CP further assures of the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command’s resolve to synergize with NIMASA in its quest for the enthronement of global best practices in the provision of Maritime services in Nigeria.
