Eze Njoku charges Ohaneze Ndigbo on promoting Igbo culture, heritage among youth.

Eze (Amb) Nicholas Emenike Njoku,Ohazurume I of Ejigbo and the Eze Ndigbo of Aigbaka Ejigbo has urged the leaders of the Pan lgbo Socio Cultural Organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Lagos State to promote and preserve the Igbo Cultural heritage among the young generation.
He stated this during a meeting he held with the newly elected Chairmen of the 57 local government area Lagos State, noting that the group need to take more proactive steps at ensuring that Igbo language, culture and traditions are sustained and promoted.
Eze Njoku who is an Ambassador of the United Nations noted with dismay that the young generation appeared to have more preference for English and Western culture than theirs, stressing that the culture and traditions of the lgbos are fast loosing values, warning that if not checked, it would go into extinction as predicted by the United Nations.
The monarch who is the founder of “Ulo Nmuta Omenala Nasusu igbo” harped on the need for preservation of cultural and traditional practices as a way of enhancing unity and development among the lgbo speaking community.
“Igbo people are unique and they are very special, our cultural belief have helped to promote peace and good upbringing of our children. I want to use this medium to encourage you to keep up the good work, which you are doing in your local government area so as to promote lgbo culture and tradition but we need to put more effort so that our heritage would not go into extinction”
“I appeal to you all, lets ensure that all hands are on deck for the sustenance of the Igbo heritage,do not be discouraged by the challenges you are to face but see the challenges as a stepping stone to your success,” he submitted.
He stated further that the organization should come up with innovations and programs that will promote and progress to the Igbo Speaking Community.
Responding the President General Ohaneze Lagos State, Chief Sunday Ossai thanked the for finding out time to associate with the group, while commending him for his selfless contribution to the sustenance of lgbo language and culture among the young generation, thereby ensuring that the young generations understand the culture, tradition and norms of Igbos.
He pledges the group support in ensuring that the prediction of the United Nations do not come to pass, while appealing to other monarch and good spirited individuals to rally their support to this project.
